July 4th Vacation

We still have not unpacked..still have our luggage sitting in our living room....we got back 5 days ago. ;-P We did have lots of fun. Monday we went fishing at lake Piru with the Bishops. Kyle had fun catching the one and only trout. Kevin had fun walking (more like swimming) around the lake.




On Wednesday we headed up north to Monterey. You know, you see it on TV, everyone jokes about it.. but I never really heard it til now.. "Are we there yet?" every 10 minutes for the whole drive up. yup... was a long drive. yes I know should have had a DVD. It ended up all being fine. On Thursday we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Very nice! boys like seeing the Sea Otter, Yellow Fin TUna and the Blue Fin Tuna. Funny story, we saw the Bonito in one of the tanks, showed Kevin the picture there and the fish and told him that, that is "Katsuobushi".. see picture...



We then went to Dennis the Menace Park across the street from our Hotel. On Friday we headed up further north to Manresa Beach little south of Santa cruze to meet up with North Cal friends (Bobby/Denise, Doug/Mary, Julie/Ray, Kaz/Chris + kids). I forget how much fun they are. we definetly need to go up north more often. We had a blast! Thanks Bobby & Mary and crew for organizing! The boys had a great time playing with all the kids.
